Chapter 141: Ascension Command Token

Upon seeing the “Flying Talisman,” both Black Man and the stall owner were visibly moved. Their gazes toward Han Li also grew much more serious. After all, someone who possessed a high-rank talisman was unlikely to be an ordinary person.

“Alright, I’ll exchange!” Black Man was straightforward. Such a clearly advantageous deal was not something one could refuse.

“But before that, I want to test what you said—that this fragment doesn’t hinder the intake of spiritual energy from the outside world even when covered. If that’s true, I’ll exchange immediately. If it’s not, I won’t risk trading for this item!” Han Li said calmly.

Black Man was momentarily stunned by Han Li’s words, but after understanding the content, he laughed.

“What I said about this item’s effect is absolutely true. Feel free to try!” Black Man said confidently.

Han Li didn’t hesitate either. He took out a cup-shaped object from his belongings and placed it on the ground. Then he covered it with the “cloth.” After the cup disappeared, Han Li extended a finger and condensed a small white spiritual energy orb about the size of a bean on his fingertip, then gently touched the cloth below. The orb gradually vanished, seemingly swallowed up.

Seeing this, Han Li’s face showed delight. He lightly grasped the cloth and lifted it. The cup reappeared, and inside, the previously vanished orb was drifting.

“Not bad! Brother, what you said is indeed true. I want this magical treasure fragment, and that flying talisman is yours!” Han Li put the cloth back into his sleeve, sealing it away, and cupped his fists toward Black Man with a smile.

“Good! You’re straightforward,” Black Man was delighted. He bent down, took the flying talisman, and examined it carefully several times. After confirming it was genuine, he smiled warmly.

Han Li smiled faintly and said nothing more. He turned and squeezed out of the crowd. But after only a few steps, he heard many voices of discussion from behind.

“This guy’s crazy! Using a high-rank talisman to exchange for such a useless thing!”

“Exactly, this fragment is so small, what use could it possibly have? Such an exchange isn’t worth it!”

“Don’t say that. Maybe he has some other clever use!”

...

Hearing these comments, Han Li chuckled silently. “How could these immortal cultivators understand the importance of this item to me?”

“Brother, slow down! Wait for me!” Before Han Li had gone far, a voice suddenly came from behind, followed by hurried footsteps approaching.

Han Li was a little surprised. Could it be someone calling him? He turned his head.

Not far away, a man was running over, sweating profusely and shouting as he ran. It was the round-faced youth who almost caused a big trouble before.

Han Li blinked and stopped curiously. He wanted to know why this lively fellow was so determined to catch up with him.

“Brother, I finally caught up to you!” The youth arrived, panting heavily.

“Brother, is there something you need?” Han Li glanced at him, puzzled.

“This is for you! Consider it thanks for your help earlier.” Without another word, the youth handed Han Li a small booklet, then shyly ran away.

Han Li was a bit stunned but soon smiled. It surprised him to see such straightforward kindness among cultivators. He did not chase after him, but looked down at the item in his hand.

The booklet was titled Records of Qingxi. It didn’t seem to be about spell formations or anything like that. Han Li flipped through a few pages with some interest.

It turned out to be a miscellany compiled by “True Person Qingxi,” a senior immortal cultivator from Yue Country who disliked cultivation and preferred wandering around. He recorded in detail the secret rumors and legends he knew. Some pages had vividly drawn illustrations related to the stories. Although Han Li only glanced through a few pages, he grew interested and tucked the booklet away.

Afterward, nothing particularly noteworthy happened, and feeling a bit bored, Han Li returned to his residence. Inside his room, he lay on the bed and carefully read the Records of Qingxi.
