Chapter 14: The Mysterious Liquid
“Ah!” Han Li raised one hand high, clenched his fist tightly, and shouted out excitedly.
At this moment, his childlike temperament showed without a doubt.
It seemed his hypothesis was correct: the closed doors and windows hindered the bottle’s attraction to the threads of light. Only in a vast, open, unobstructed area could the bottle attract the threads of light better, and the light clusters formed by the bottle would be larger.
Although he still didn’t know where these threads of light came from, or what use the bottle had in absorbing these tiny light spots, this was a big step closer to uncovering the mystery.
Han Li felt he was about to solve the bottle’s secret, which made him especially excited.
He waited until dawn was approaching before the glow around the bottle gradually faded, returning to its calm state.
During this time, Han Li observed the changes in the bottle while also staying alert to avoid being discovered by others.
He bent down and picked up the bottle to examine it.
Compared to before, nothing had changed. The bottle cap was still tightly sealed and couldn’t be opened.
Han Li was disappointed, but seeing that it was getting late, he reluctantly put the bottle away.
He still had to rush back to the stone chamber to meditate and practice.
In the following days, every night at a certain time, the bottle exhibited the same phenomenon.
Countless threads of light, like moths drawn to a flame, were attracted to the bottle. Then they transformed into numerous tiny light dots, greedily swallowed by the bottle.
Just when Han Li thought this phenomenon would continue daily, on the eighth day, something different happened.
When Han Li arrived at the usual spot and took out the bottle, the absorption of the light dots lasted only a short quarter of an hour before stopping.
Then, the dark green patterns on the bottle suddenly emitted a dazzling green glow, and several golden characters and symbols appeared on its surface.
These strange characters had a smooth structure and peculiar strokes, carrying an indescribable ancient charm as they flickered and moved continuously across the bottle’s surface.
This unusual phenomenon lasted only a moment before disappearing, leaving behind a few raised golden strange characters on the bottle’s surface, as if everything had returned to the state before these events happened.
After experiencing these strange happenings over the past few days, Han Li was no longer as startled as he had been initially.
Even more peculiar things on the bottle no longer surprised him much.
Carelessly, he picked up the bottle and instinctively tried to open the cap.
Gently, effortlessly, the cap came off the bottle.
Unbelievable! Han Li looked at the cap in his hand in shock.
Just like that, without any effort or skill, he had solved this difficult problem—the major annoyance that had troubled him for days—so easily?
After confirming that what had happened was indeed real, and the secret of the bottle was now right before his eyes, he could no longer contain his excitement.
He leaned closer to the mouth of the bottle and peered inside.
Inside, there was a pea-sized drop of turquoise-green liquid, slowly rolling within, reflecting a greenish glow on the entire bottle wall.
What was this?
Han Li felt a bit disappointed—after all his effort, this was just a dull substance.
He gloomily sealed the bottle cap and put it into his leather pouch, then turned toward his dwelling, his previous excitement completely vanished.
Although the bottle’s cap was now open, the result was far from satisfying.
Han Li decided to investigate the secret of this green liquid when he had free time in the future.
Maybe it could give him a small surprise!
For now, what he needed to do was—go back and get a good sleep to make up for lost rest.
In recent days, he hadn’t slept well at night, greatly reducing his daytime training efficiency.
Combined with his lack of energy, this had already drawn some concern from Doctor Mo.
