Chapter 137: Golden Bamboo Brush

“Two spirit stones!” A clear, crisp female voice reached Han Li’s ears.

Han Li was momentarily stunned, then realized that the stall owner across from him, who had been quietly reading with her head down, was actually a sweet and charming young girl.

“This book doesn’t have any defects, right?” Han Li asked as he came back to his senses.

“No, every line of the everlasting spring technique’s spell formations up to the thirteenth layer is intact,” the girl replied confidently.

Han Li nodded, flipped through a few more pages at random, then closed the book.

“Would you accept a pill in exchange?” Han Li asked directly.

“A pill?” The girl looked startled, her beautiful eyes wide open.

“That depends on what kind of pill. If it’s something for healing injuries or curing diseases, it’s not very valuable!” The girl gently brushed the stray hair from her forehead.

Hearing this, Han Li knew there was a good chance for a deal, so he unconditionally took out a jade bottle and placed it in front of the girl.

“It’s a Yellow Dragon Pill—one that strengthens foundation and enhances magical power!” Han Li wasn’t modest about it.

“Strengthens foundation and enhances magical power?”

The girl, who had been calm and composed, suddenly became a little nervous. She leaned forward, gently lifted the jade bottle, poured out a pill, then lowered her head to smell and examine its properties.

Han Li looked down at the exposed slender neck the girl revealed as she bent over. Because she was so close, a faint, elegant feminine fragrance wafted to him, causing his heart to beat faster and his face to flush slightly.

“It really is a pill that enhances magical power!” The girl exclaimed with delight after a moment of smelling.

She looked up at Han Li with joy and said expectantly, “Do you have more of these pills? If so, I can trade as many as you have. You can pick anything from my stall. If that doesn’t work, I can also buy them with spirit stones!”

With that, she gripped the bottle tightly, staring at Han Li without blinking, afraid to hear a “no” from him.

Han Li found it amusing that this originally gentle and charming girl suddenly became so anxious. But he also thought to himself that he had underestimated the value of these pills and needed to be more cautious in the future.

“Don’t rush, miss. Let’s finish this deal first, then we can talk about the next one, okay?” Han Li originally wanted to refuse, but when he saw her clear eyes, he suddenly thought of his younger sister at home and softened, so the words slipped out naturally.

“I’m truly sorry! I got a bit carried away,” the girl said, blushing as if realizing her rudeness.

“This book will cost just two of these pills,” she said after calming down.

Hearing that, Han Li thought the price was fair and agreed. Then his gaze swept the other goods on the stall.

“What’s this?”

A small, inconspicuous gray cloth bag caught Han Li’s interest. Especially since it was tightly tied with a thin red silk cord, and bulging inside! Han Li reached out and picked it up.

“These are Seven Star Grass seeds. Seven Star Grass over ten years old is the best raw material for making talisman paper,” the girl explained in a clear voice.

Han Li’s mind stirred. This could definitely be useful, so he didn’t hesitate to put the bag in front of him.

“Nothing else here is useful to me?” Han Li asked slowly after scanning the stall again.

“Are you really not interested? This Cold Ice Talisman is powerful, and this Rejuvenation Talisman can greatly restore your stamina…” The girl was reluctant and stepped forward to recommend items to Han Li.

Han Li couldn’t help but smile faintly at how she looked like a naive girl thinking he didn’t know how to appreciate good things.

“What’s so funny?” The girl blushed again.

“I actually just wanted to buy some cinnabar and a brush for drawing talismans, but unfortunately, you don’t have them here!” Han Li said honestly, which was rare for him.
