Chapter 118: The Two Choices
“What exactly are you thinking? Just be honest with me. I don’t want to go in circles with you anymore!” Han Li said coldly, showing no sign of being influenced by Madam Yan.
Madam Yan furrowed her brow. This young man was far more troublesome than she had anticipated. Neither soft nor hard tactics worked on him, leaving her feeling at a loss.
“Do we really have to lay all our cards on the table and make things clear with him?” Madam Yan was reluctant. After all, she had held the reins of the Thunder Flood Society for so many years—when had she ever negotiated without gaining any advantage, just revealing everything outright?
She glanced back at Madam Wu, Madam Wang. Among these sisters, only Madam Wang had the power to oppose her decisions, so she looked to see if she had any better suggestions.
“Leave the negotiation with this man entirely to Fourth Sister. I won’t have any objections!” Madam Wang recognized Madam Yan’s meaning and said icily.
Madam Yan was delighted to hear this and felt somewhat reassured.
“Very well. Since you don’t intend to beat around the bush, we sisters will also be straightforward and lay out our conditions,” Madam Yan said, immediately regaining the commanding presence of one of Jiayuan City’s three major gang leaders. The frail and powerless image of a gentle lady from before vanished, replaced by the dignity born of long experience in high places.
“Good. This is the opponent I want to negotiate with!” Han Li smiled faintly.
“If you can wipe out the Thunder Flood Society’s mortal enemies—the Five Colors Sect and the Domineering Manor—so that the Mo Residence has no worries, I will immediately offer the Warm Sun Jade with both hands and allow you to choose any one among Cai Huan and the others to marry,” Madam Yan declared.
“But if you plan to be aggressive or try to coerce us sisters by force, then you have the wrong idea. I have already entrusted the Warm Sun Jade to a trusted person. If anything happens, it will be destroyed immediately, so that we all perish together,” she said with a stern expression.
“Madam Yan, aren’t you afraid of letting your tongue slip? You want me to single-handedly destroy both the Five Colors Sect and the Domineering Manor? You really do have a wild imagination!” Han Li seemed to have anticipated Madam Yan’s threat and was unperturbed.
He already knew that the Warm Sun Jade could not be obtained by brute force alone. Besides their verbal threats, who knows what hidden moves they had. Forcing the issue and interrogating them harshly was a last resort. It was better to have them willingly hand it over.
“Aren’t you an immortal cultivator? How could these underworld folks be a match for you? Besides, we didn’t ask you to kill all their followers; just some of their key leaders disappearing would suffice,” said the beautiful young married woman, Third Madam, flashing Han Li a captivating smile as she spoke in a honeyed tone.
“So what if I’m an immortal cultivator? I don’t know about other cultivators, but I’m very clear about my own abilities. I’m not foolish enough to take on tens of thousands from a big gang by myself. Besides, do you really think immortal cultivators can recklessly kill ordinary people without consequences?” Han Li glanced coldly at Third Madam. The icy chill in his eyes froze her smile. With the Everlasting Spring Technique activated and on guard, any soul bewildering charms or similar techniques she tried would have no effect!
“What, are you saying immortal cultivators have restrictions when dealing with ordinary people?” Madam Yan asked in surprise.
“I’m not exactly sure about the specifics; after all, I only recently became an immortal cultivator and haven’t truly encountered these rules,” Han Li said lightly. Then, seeing Madam Yan was about to speak again, he waved his hand to stop her and continued coldly:
“But as long as you’re not crazy, you can figure this out. If immortal cultivators could act freely against ordinary people, then your so-called three major overlords of Lanzhou and three major gangs of Jiayuan City wouldn’t still exist. They would have been wiped out countless times by immortal cultivators with malicious intentions. Maybe you beautiful ladies would have long since become their playthings.”
