Chapter 107: Mo Yuzhu
Han Li, of course, was unaware of the conversation between the Blue-Clothed Man and the Yellow-Shirted Man. He was still relieved to have escaped a disaster. Although he was somewhat annoyed by the Blue-Clothed Man’s indifference towards him, Han Li, who clearly understood the vast difference in their strengths, felt as if he had truly escaped to heaven. His whole body relaxed considerably.
After the Blue-Clothed Man’s disturbance, Han Li’s heart could no longer calm down. The peaceful mindset he once had was gone forever. He sighed, stood up, and prepared to settle the bill and leave the restaurant.
At that moment, faint but distinct sounds of horse hooves suddenly came from the street outside, growing clearer as they approached.
Han Li’s spirit stirred. He sat back down and fixed his gaze on the street.
According to Sun Ergou’s information, these horse hooves likely belonged to Mo Yuzhu, the Young Miss of the Mo Residence, returning from outside the city.
It was said that this Mo Residence heiress never liked needlework since childhood, preferring instead to wield spear and sword. She had learned impressive skills from experts of the Thunder Flood Society.
What shocked everyone even more was that this Mo Miss had an unusual passion for hunting—a pursuit typically reserved for men. She frequently rode her horse into the woods outside the city for vigorous expeditions. Because of this, many young noblemen who sought her favor would daily trail behind her, falconry and hounds in tow, hoping proximity would win her heart.
Naturally, after Young Master Wu arrived in Jiayuan City, he too unsurprisingly joined in this pursuit.
When Han Li heard these rumors, he became very curious about Mo Yuzhu. A young woman with such a strong personality was rare indeed. He hoped she wouldn’t disappoint him.
Now, a dozen or so riders on various fine horses thundered down one end of the street. Leading the group were a man and a woman. The man was a handsome youth with sword-like brows and bright eyes, tall and slender in build. The woman wore a fiery red hunting outfit and a purple cloak over her head, obscuring her delicate face.
In the blink of an eye, these riders passed by the front of Xiang Family Restaurant, charging past Han Li’s line of sight, finally stopping before the gates of the Mo Residence.
Originally stationed on both sides of the gate were burly men in tight clothing. Immediately, one man with a face full of pockmarks stepped forward respectfully and greeted the leading duo:
“Young Miss, Young Master Wu, you have returned. How was today’s harvest?”
“Not bad!” the woman in the hunting outfit replied crisply. She reached up and removed her cloak, revealing a breathtakingly beautiful face. Then she lightly leapt off her horse.
“Yes, Miss!” The man named Tang Er seemed hesitant to look directly at her dazzling features, quickly taking the reins and leading the horses towards a side entrance of the mansion.
Though still some distance from the main gate, Han Li, from his vantage point upstairs, managed to see about seventy to eighty percent of her face from the side. He couldn’t help but take a deep breath. Her skin was as clear and pure as snow, her small, straight nose exquisite, eyes dark and bright, and lips red and enticing. The ancient descriptions “sinking fish and falling geese,” or “flowers closing shyly before the moon,” seemed fitting to describe her.
“This must be Mo Yuzhu! No wonder she drives all the young noblemen in Jiayuan City crazy. She is truly a peerless beauty, the living definition of national beauty and enchanting grace,” Han Li thought to himself.
The handsome youth and the others behind him dismounted as well, with some leading their horses away.
The youth smiled and approached Mo Yuzhu, whispering a few words that brought a flush to her cheeks. She lightly tapped his shoulder a few times, then shyly glanced at the young man several times. After stamping her delicate foot, she trotted into the gate. The youth chuckled softly and walked in with elegant poise.
