A Gentle Noble's Vacation Recommendation

Chapter 109: I Decided to Take a Chance 🎯

Published: February 1, 2026

As soon as Rizel joined the guild, he gave a wry smile at the gazes directed at him and the conversations exchanged.

“Oh, you’re big now.”

“You’ve really grown.”

“You’re still so skinny. Didn’t feed you meat when you were small, so you stayed tiny.”

Eating meat when small doesn’t mean you’ll grow a better physique when you return to your normal size.

Apparently, the smaller version of himself had also shown up at the guild. Rizel nodded, thinking to himself that as a kid, he was curious and brave enough to head to a guild filled with burly men. What he didn’t know was that Eleven, pumped up with excitement, had been frantically searching for Jill, which was why they came to the guild—not because he particularly wanted to.

He glanced over the warning board and quickly checked that today’s strong winds meant they couldn’t go to the sea labyrinth. Since they hadn’t planned to go anyway, he felt fine about it and moved toward the quest board.

“Did I not eat much meat back then?”

“No, the leader ate quite a bit.”

“Not just meat, but you probably ate a lot overall.”

“Really?”

Curious, Rizel asked, and the unexpected answer made him nod in approval.

Even now, when he wants to eat a lot, like during the orichalcum shark fight, he has no issue eating plenty. But generally, as an adventurer, he’s small-eating, so it’s hard to imagine. If that was the case when he was small, maybe he’d have a more adventurer-like physique now. But since using his brain also requires a lot of energy, Rizel probably used up the nutrition on that instead.

Comforting himself that this helped him serve the king of his original world, Rizel stood in front of the crowded quest board. It was always busy in the morning.

“You guys haven’t been able to move your bodies enough lately, so maybe a combat-related quest would be best?”

“Ah, yeah, that sounds better.”

“Do as you like.”

So, labyrinth or outside the country? He figured higher ranks would be better, so he passed the C and D ranks, which had the most adventurers, and stood before the highest rank currently available for acceptance: rank a.

“Hmm... Oh, there’s a quest to obtain undead materials. I haven’t seen them yet, so how about it?”

“Don’t.”

“Huh?”

“The only place undead appear around here is the ‘Decayed Graveyard.’ The floor’s all muddy, it smells terrible, and it’s slimy. You okay with that, leader? I’m not.”

That was a no-go. Rizel gave up.

Despite everything, Rizel was still a noble, so there were things he could accept and things he couldn’t. Even if he wanted to see undead, he didn’t want to go there.

Undead were mostly humanoid, and if you were lucky, you could get good equipment or ornaments as materials, but the slimy, filth-covered items weren’t popular. Even adventurers used to dirt preferred not to touch those.

Still, the pay was relatively good, so some adventurers reluctantly chose such quests. But Rizel really hated it. If his shoe soles got all muddy like that, he wouldn’t want to take a single step.

“Then, how about golems for a change? ‘Obtain green golem cores.’”

“That sounds good.”

“No objections.”

Then let’s do this, Rizel said, accepting the quest paper Jill handed him and looking it over.

【Obtain Green Golem Core】

Rank: B to A

Client: Tools Magical Tool Workshop, Astarnia Branch

Reward: 8 to 12 silver coins per core

Quest: Obtain green golem cores.

However, only undamaged cores are acceptable as they will be used to produce magical tools.

Rewards vary by size (details on the back).

Golems are incredibly tough. Swords barely penetrate them.

Each has an attribute; green golems have wind attribute. Their cores contain wind magic, so wind spells are absorbed, and physical attacks like fire or water magic are nearly nullified.

Only opposing attribute magic is effective, so for this quest, only earth magic can do significant damage. Still, with Jill and Eleven around, who can defeat even the nearly invulnerable white golems by themselves, this wouldn’t be a tough opponent.
